Association Officer Position Descriptions
Candidates for PRESIDENT
Must have served a minimum of one year on the Association Executive
Council. If no qualified candidates apply, any member who has
served on the Association Board of Directors, either elected
or appointed, may run. The President is the chief elected officer
of the Association. The President presides at meetings of the
Board of Directors, and serves as ex-officio member of all committees
except the Nominating and Election Committee. The President sees
that all legally adopted resolutions and policy statements of
the Board of Directors are carried out.
Candidates for VP - ADMINISTRATION
Must have
served a minimum of one year on the Association Board of Directors
or one year on the chapter Board of Directors as an elected officer.
In addition, candidates should have solid business backgrounds.
The Vice President – Administration
will serve on the Executive Council and perform all the duties
of the President in case of the President’s absence, death,
resignation or inability to act. The Vice President – Administration
is responsible for the keeping of complete and proper minutes
of all meetings of the Executive Council, Board of Directors
and general membership meetings, for sending copies of the minutes
to all members of the Board of Directors, and for publishing
a synopsis for all Association members in the Association newsletter.
The Vice President - Administration will also serve as the association's
chief financial officer and be responsible for keeping and filing
all documents committed to his or her custody, and performs other
duties as assigned by the President or the Board of Directors.
Candidates for VP - PROGRAMS
Must have served
a minimum of one year on the Association Board of Directors or
one year on the chapter Board of Directors as an elected officer.
In addition, candidates should have served as either Director
of Education or Symposium. The Vice President – Programs
will serve on the Executive Council and perform the duties of
President in the event that both the President and Vice President – Administration,
are unable to act. The Vice President – Programs chairs
the Program Council, is responsible for the educational planning
and activities for the Association and performs other duties
as assigned by the President or the Board of Directors.
Candidates for VP - CHAPTER/MEMBER RELATIONS
Must
have served a minimum of one year on the Association Board of
Directors or one year on the chapter Board of Directors as an
elected officer. The Vice President – Chapter/Member
Relations will represent chapters and non-chapter members to
provide a direct communication link between the chapters and
non-chapter members and the Board of Directors. The Vice President
of Chapter/Member Relations will serve on the Executive Council
and perform the duties of the President in the event that the
President, Vice President – Administration, or the Vice
President - Programs, is unable to act. The Vice President – Chapter/Member
Relations chairs the Representative Council and performs other
duties as assigned by the President or the Board of Directors.
Candidates for DIRECTOR - CHAPTER MEMBER RELATIONS
Must have served a minimum of one year as an elected chapter
officer or chaired a committee at the Association level or have
had a comparable position in a similar association. The Director
of Chapter Member Relations will represent the local chapters
within the association to provide a direct communication link
between the chapter members and the Board of Directors. This
position will report to the VP - Chapter/Member Relations and
will serve on the Representative Council.
This position is mission-critical to be able to address issues
and concerns from and to the forms and systems industry within
the association. Therefore, possessing strong, written and oral
communication skills are an essential part of succeeding in this
role.
Candidates for DIRECTOR – NON-CHAPTER
MEMBER RELATIONS
Must be a member in good standing and possess solid leadership
skills. The Director of Non-Chapter Member Relations will represent
the members within the association, who do not belong to a chapter,
to provide a direct communication link between the members and
the Board of Directors. This position will report to the VP -
Chapter/Member Relations and will serve on the Representative
Council.
This position is mission-critical to
be able to address issues and concerns from and to the forms
and systems industry within the association. Therefore, possessing
strong, written and oral communication skills are an essential
part of succeeding in this role.
