How I Got Started: I was ready for a career change and went to an employment agency. I told the agent that I had some personal goals but no professional goals. The agent pulled out a job card and said, "No one understands what these people want. You are looking for something different. Why don't you talk to them?" I did and it turned out to be the Ross-Martin Company, the original forms management outsource provider. I worked there for six years as an account representative and dealt with companies headquartered in Houston, such as Igloo, Riviana Foods and Schulmberger.

At a BFMA Houston Chapter board meeting, the treasurer announced the promotion of her boss and said that there was a job opening at her company for Forms Management Supervisor. She turned to me and said, "Why don't you apply for that job? I would love to work for you." I didn't think too much more about it until the following week one of my customers called me and told me that there was a job opening advertised in the paper that I had to apply for.   I told her I wasn't really looking for a job. She told me that you should always be looking for a job. Well, you guessed it. They were the same job, so I decided it was too much coincidence and applied. I worked for Pennzoil-Quaker State Company for nearly 20 years and left that job as Manager of Forms, Records and Information Management, with responsibility for forms management and forms warehousing, in-house print shop, including check printing and data center printing, imaging, records management, records center and a specialized file room. Once Shell acquired Pennzoil, my job was outsourced. I guess what goes around comes around!

Current Professional Duties: I manage my own consulting firm, focused on forms and forms management.

BFMA’s Potential Growth: BFMA is the best resource for anyone in the forms profession or someone who needs information on how to start or jumpstart a forms organization within a company.

Most Fun Part of BFMA: Interacting with people who are as excited about the forms world as I am.  Each activity helps recharge my batteries.

Favorite Book(s): “Pride and Prejudice” by Jane Austen is my favorite book of all time.  I also enjoy reading current mystery series such as those by Sue Grafton and Janet Evanovich.

Passionate About: My husband, caring for my aging mother, travel, books, and BFMA!

Personal Statement:  BFMA is simply the best resource for nearly everything you need that is related to forms. Whether it is professional advice or personal support, there is someone at BFMA with the knowledge or compassion to help you. Get involved and stay involved. BFMA offers a lifetime of learning and a wealth of friendships."
