Upcoming BFMA Webinars in November!
The month of November offers a variety of Webinar topics that may interest you. From new ideas in designing Word forms to ICR Barcode scanning technology to the latest technology for form display via the iPad, BFMA continues to offer great education that you can access from the comfort of your own office.
The cost for each session is $89 for BFMA members and $109 for non-members. The fee covers one "seat", that is, one Internet connection to the live presentation as well as access to the recording of the session for one-year. Multiple listeners are welcome to access the live webinar as long as there is only one Internet connection, making these webinars the perfect training tool during these difficult economic times. The sessions start at 1:30pm CDT and run for 90 minutes.
A few sessions are being offered again and please note the iPad session date change. Keep reading for more information on these sessions and check the website often for the most up-to-date schedule. Sessions are added regularly.
MS Word Forms
There are many different applications that can be used to create forms. This session will discuss the available formatting and settings that can be used in Microsoft Word 2007 to create forms. Attendees will get an overview of form design within Word and special formatting that will help create usable forms
Business Forms on the Apple iPad
This session will introduce BFMA attendees to the new world of business forms on Apple's iPad. It will cover traditional BFMA concepts and concerns but the session will focus on how our collective business form expertise can be applied in the new world of portable and interactive tablets. We will demonstrate an example of an interactive and dynamic iPad expense report and attendees will be able to download this app to their own iPads.
This is a critically important topic for the BFMA because many field personnel are now using the iPad to complete business forms while they are on-the-road or working with clients. Designing and developing iPad-based business forms is considerably different than traditional paper forms or traditional interactive PDF forms. However, the BFMA has always been a leading voice in form management and the BFMA will continue to lead with this new and exciting iPad course.
Improving ICR And Barcode Recognition Accuracy
Automated forms data capture through document scanning can provide many benefits, including fast collection of large quantities of information with little human interaction. However, even with image automation, some human data entry and validation is typically required. Forms processing system managers strive to increase data recognition accuracy and reduce the amount of labor cost required to manually key unrecognized information.
This session will focus on form design elements that can improve the accuracy of image-based Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) for hand printed responses on forms, image enhancement processes that can impact recognition, and some best practices for use of barcodes within forms.
Don't forget this month's all member free webinar:
SharePoint from the Form's-Eye View
Like it or not, the advent of e-forms and the Web long ago began punching holes through the wall that once separated forms management from IT. We can lament the trend all we want, but the fact is that forms programmed and used on-screen are now routinely taking the place of forms that are designed and filled on paper – and they are being created and managed by people who aren't you!
This presentation discusses why SharePoint is part of so many conversations, what is most compelling about it, and where to find and exploit the intersections with core forms philosophy. Led by Holly Group Executive Director Steve Weissman, the session is a "must" for anyone seeking to thrive in today's changing environment.
