S710 Holistic Customer Communications; Eliminating Silos of Technology to Achieve Excellence in Customer Communications
Presenter: Scott Bannor, Senior Consultant, OBRIEN
8:00am - 8:50am

Historically enterprises have continually built silos of technology to support various aspects of customer communications. Originally print was the primary channel. More recently email, the web, smart phones and mobile devices have come to the fore. Implemented on a Line of Business or Departmental basis this has led to increasing costs of maintaining disparate systems and processes. Perhaps most costly are the high levels of operational complexity these silos represent. The challenges facing modern enterprises in achieving excellence in customer communications are reducing the number of silos while at the same time empowering business users. The complexity of the current situation is a significant inhibitor to these initiatives. We will review how only a combination of consultative planning that identifies all the touch points of the customer communication process and the appropriate application of technology can help enterprises move from IT-centric to user-centric processes that deliver the "5Cs" of success - Collaboration, Control, Customers, Communication, Channels.
