Appreciating The Village
Lisa Lee, CEBS, FLMI
Symposium is next month! I’m excited, because it’s my favorite BFMA event. I’m looking forward to the educational sessions and talking ‘shop’ with colleagues in our field. (Hope you can be there!) Symposium also marks the beginning of a new board year and the end of my term as president of the association. You know that saying that it takes a village to raise a child? Well, it’s the same with a professional association. It takes a village. As we prepare for the transition, I find I am filled with gratitude for the people who have been active contributors.

Time to "Budget” Symposium!
Ray Killam, CFSP, CFC
The Federal budget crisis has been averted and we can all breathe a little easier. As you probably know, BFMA geared Symposium 2011 around the government. Symposium is in Baltimore, which is convenient to many centers of government activity. We have instituted a government track to run on Tuesday, May 17 that features several interesting presentations from the US Department of State. Attend this track and benefit from the US Department of State's knowledge and experience with implementing their eforms program. This special dedicated government forms track entitled the Evolution of the Department of State Electronic Forms Program focuses on various aspects of eforms program implementation and will be presented by US Department of State forms professionals.

Where Are We Today???
Bill Hill, CFC, CFSP,
I have been going to BFMA Symposium continuously since 1992. That first year, the call from all corners of the hall rang out, "Electronic forms, Electronic forms, Electronic forms.” Electronic forms are the future. I went back to the office and said we should get started on Electronic forms and received universal blank stares. Well for starters, I had no computer and IT didn’t understand laptops…yet.
