Kelly Halseth

Forms Manager

We asked Kelly for a bio and she replied that good bios take effort and she’s too lazy to bother. Kelly’s been working in healthcare for 14 years, all of that time in process improvement and forms management.  She’s a farm girl who attended University in Calgary but got her most useful education working behind a bar.  She’s learned not to take herself seriously.   She loves scuba diving, football and single malt scotch. She thinks social media has turned narcissism into a spectator sport.  She dislikes writing bios. Director of Forms Strategy & Management for Alberta Health Services, Kelly leads a team of very talented individuals in support of 125,000 staff, physicians and volunteers and 80,000 forms (and counting).  She holds a BA in English and a BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Calgary.

Charlene Haykel

Forms Manager
Charlene Haykel is a strategic analyst, editor and writer with 40 years’ experience in corporate, marketing and government communications. Haykel began to focus on the problem of complex information in 1988 when she joined an international branding firm to introduce their emerging simplification specialty across North America. She subsequently served as a principal of two other agencies, BlackburnYoungHaykel in Westport, CT and Simplify, a company she cofounded in New York City.  Both businesses gave her opportunities to link marketing, branding and customer retention issues with simplification theory and practice. What emerged from her work was MacrosimplificationTM, a process for creating clear, effective communication systems for entire organizations built around core content. Through this process, Haykel typically achieves reductions of 20-30% in the volume of her clients’ marketing materials and comparable iimprovements in their readability and impact. In 2010, she co-authored the award-winning College Access: A Family Guide to Planning and Funding College. Recent clients include American Express, Sun Life Financial, the New York State Health Insurance Exchange, and Evergreen Health Cooperative, an ACA-funded start-up in Maryland.  Haykel holds a BA in English from Daemen College,  Buffalo, NY and an MA in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
