Setting Objectives for the New Year

Lisa Lee, CEBS, FLMI

A surprising number of people have mentioned to me that they are glad to be moving into 2011, and leaving the old year behind. So begins a new cycle and we make a fresh start. As we define objectives for the new year, here are some areas you might consider.

Set Attainable Goals

Congratulations to Keith Bal and Brian Gregson, as the newest CFSPs. Both men work for MetLife and participated in the fall CFSP study group, taking the exam in December.

A New Year and New Opportunities

Bill Hill, CFC, CFSP

We seem to go through phases. At one time, management virtually forces employees to take unrelated training and education classes. Many of these classes, why? And at other times, training is cut to a minimal schedule. Why can’t I take classes in my business field?

Customer Self-Service is a Concept That I Fully Support

Ray Killam, CFSP, CFC
President Emeritus

Here is an interesting article that recently appeared in the AIIM newsletter. It describes a records manager's experience with an application process using an electronic form. To me, it highlights a basic problem we have in the forms management community - people want our services and "simple eForms", but they are not all that easy to get done due to many barriers that exist - policy, legal and technical.
