510 Forms as Compliance Controls

Presenter: Dustin Borklund CFC, CCEP

Does your company's Chief Compliance Officer know what you do every day as a Forms Professional to protect the company? This session will give you the tools and insight you need to promote your forms program as a necessary component of a Compliance Management System. The session will also give examples of a few public compliance failures and we will discuss ways a Forms Professional could have helped prevent them.

610 Forms Management Database

Presenter: Ray Killam CFC, CFSP

This session examines the structure and contents of a comprehensive forms management database. The data contained in a relational database can be effectively queried and complied as reports for a variety of purposes. In addition, standard electronic forms can be attached to the database to effectively automate many routine forms management functions. This session uses the Form Center database to illustrate how it all fits together and helps achieve a Best Practices forms management program.

10:00am – 10:50am

511 BFMA Body of Knowledge: Best Practices for Records Communications

Presenter: Terri Hansen

Information management, including forms’ records management activities, is an essential function of the Forms Management Program in the name of the organization. The head of the Forms Management Program ensures its staff is fully trained to understand the relevance of information management in their function and how to assume their roles and responsibilities with respect to maintaining form records.

611 eForms-centric Business Process Management

Presenters: Jennifer Herrera and Cheikh Mbacké

This session will explore the details of implementation of an eForms-centric Business Process Management System. Organizations dealing with a large number of paper and/or fill-and-print electronic forms can gain tremendous efficiencies by replacing these forms with automated workflows tied to smart e-Forms. During the session, we will present and examine automation of Authorization Request for Premium Class Air Travel.

11:00am – 11:50am

512 The Evolution of Design Thinking

Presenter: Bruce Boswell

Does anyone really practice Design Thinking these days? Or do we just talk about it an awful lot! In this session, Bruce Boswell, thinker and design enthusiast, argues that we’re actually doing it all the time. From the very moment we design our first official form, or document, or piece of code; that process, that evolution, has already begun. And it stays with us our entire lives. It’s the path that we all must take to attain the goal of optimal design proficiency!

From its beginning, Design Thinking has sought to formalize the creative process by improving, developing, and honing it. By capturing and systematizing the creative process into a practicable methodology, no other effort has yielded results quite like Design Thinking.

612 Optimize Your Processes with Forms

Presenter: Jenny Li

Paper forms create inefficiencies that often leads to costly errors and a negative customer experience. Learn how to convert your time-consuming manual processes to automated workflows by building PDF forms, then sending them off for signature approvals and tracking through one integrated solution. Also learn how online forms can create 2D barcodes for easy scanning into back-end systems and greater efficiency. Best practices and different approaches will be discussed. Case studies from the County of Evansville and State of Hawaii will be presented.
