Forms Industry Museum in the future will mean a great deal to BFMA and the larger forms industry community.
It will tell everyone who visits the museum where we have come from and where we are going. It will
give members and guests a sense of belonging to an organization and an enterprise that has made
this nation strong with its forms and its procedures. Specifically, we should consider these steps:

1. Continue acquiring items of interest from Dr. Ben (Benjamin S. Graham) and, also, his possible
collection of photographs. Also, try to find out from Taylor Corporation in Minnesota what has
happened to the Standard Register equipment.

2. Solidify from the Printing Museums (especially Houston) whether they would accept a wing in their
museum or traveling exhibits of forms management materials.

3. Prepare PowerPoint slides as a kind of virtual reality museum for presentation at conferences or
board meetings of the proposed four wings of the Museum:
Wing 1: Pioneers in Forms and Paperwork Management, incluiding Lillian Gilbreth, Dr. Ben S.
Graham, Alan Mogensen (Work Simplification), Leslie Matthies (Inventor of Playscript Procedure) among other achievements), Ray Marien, and Carl Osteen (Publications and                  Forms Management text)
Wing 2: Development of Forms Design, Forms Analysis, and Forms Management: From the                       Chinese to the Digital Age (includes the paper industry)
Wing 3: Pioneers in Professional Forms Management: Including National Organization                                   Committee, Growth of Chapters , First Organization and Chapter President (George                         Bubnash), National Organizing Committee President (Jo Warner), Forms Courses                             Offered by Members and Associated Colleges/Universities (Washington State, Norm                        Chilton and California (Los Angeles), George Bubnash/G. Jay Christensen), National and                  Regional Conventions, Changing Forms Management Scene
Wing 4. The Flying Form (original icon) Signals BFMA As Vibrant Organization (Chapter activities
over the last 45 Years), Regional Specialties and Speakers, Chapter Publications,                              Research Activities, Formation of Special Boards (such as BFMA Education Foundation),                  Highlighted Special National Conventions, Certification Programs
Wing 5 (Possibly): The Future of Forms Management (Including Digital Forms, Special                                  Technologies, and Mobile Uses) and the Global Reach of Forms Management (Canada-                  Australia-U.S., Etc.)

Our Motto for the Forms Museum could be "A Forms Is a Form in any Form." Therefore, perhaps, it is
important to start with a less expensive effort called Virtual Reality. I think it is important to build an
idea of what it is like to walk through a Forms Museum and visit the different wings.

Progress Reports:

March 15, 2017 We have centralized all BFMA records from the former central office and other locations. We are in the process of examining these records, scanning them into electronic files, and building the online portion of the museum.
